People Pictures Equal Money

One of the Most in Demand categories of photographs is pictures of People. People doing things they normally do in their natural surroundings like walking down the street or better yet holding hands and having fun. These kinds of pictures are selling well and you would think photographers would be shooting everyone in sight.  

They would be except when you want to upload to a microstock site to sell your work there's a little problem called a Model Release. It's this little problem that's caused a shortage in this category for some people. After all most people don't like to sign scary looking forms that could say anything in legalize that only a Philly lawyer could understand. Perhaps a smaller more simple form would be better.  

This has caused many good photographers to shy away from taking pictures of people. In my opinion the Model Release has caused a great loss of art in America. Millions of great photographs were thrown in the trash or never taken. The Great Photographers Eugene Smith, Henri-Cartier Bresson, Margaret Bourke-White, didn't use model releases because they were shooting art and didn't care.
